Notice:

Due to the overwhelming number of applications we have received, we regret to inform you that we will be closing our waitlist for the remainder of 2022.

The need for infant/toddler childcare (children under the age of 3) has reached a crisis point in Victoria. Our small centre serving 20 children in Vic West currently has a waitlist of 283 families.

Our expansion plans have unfortunately been halted due to the fee caps imposed by the provincial government, and the exclusion of the private sector from applying for New Spaces funding. The fee caps imposed on Southern Vancouver Island would not cover basic operational expenses (lease/payroll) to open and operate another daycare centre in our city.

Nurture prides itself on providing quality, inclusive and affordable childcare. We sincerely hope that the Ministry of Education and Child Care will immediately reevaluate the Regional fee caps for Victoria and ensure the inclusion of private childcare operators in New Spaces Funding so that we can continue to meet the growing demand for infant childcare spaces.

Everyone who has applied to be on our waitlist prior to May 4, 2022 is still on our waitlist. Unfortunately due to the high volume of applicants, we are not able to respond to each of you individually.

From this point forward, we will only be contacting applicants on our waitlist who are accessing the affordable childcare benefit, single parents, and clients of the YMCA Young Mom's program. We will only have 3 vacancies for the remainder of 2022.
