Covid 19 Safety

November 17, 2020

11/17/2020

  • Nurture follows the BC Centre for Disease Control Public Health Guidance for Childcare Settings and WorkSafe BC.
  • High-touch areas at the centre are cleaned twice a day including but not limited to all safety gates, doorknobs, chairs, bathroom step stool, toilets, changing table, nap cots, and toys.
  • If a child is seen putting a toy in their mouth, do not allow another child to play with that toy until it has been cleaned.
  • The Manager or additional staff is available as an extra staff member each day to assist with sanitation.
  • A hand washing station has been placed outside our main entrance at the back of our building. Hand sanitizer dispenser is available at both entrances. All parents, children and staff are instructed to use this hand washing station before entering the centre and after exiting the centre.  Staff are to regularly wash their hands and apply hand sanitizer.
  • Parents/Guardians are advised to pick up and drop off outdoors. If entering the building, parents/guardians must wear a mask.
  • When returning from community outings, staff are required to have all children wash their hands at the outside hand washing station before re-entering the centre.
  • There will be an Occupancy Limit of one family drop off at a time. Parents will be instructed to follow specific protocols set in place for drop off and pick up. An Occupancy Limit sign has been posted on the door.
  • Parents have each received agreements relating to policies and health recommendations related to COVID-19.
  • Hand washing signs have been posted in the bathroom and kitchen and on the front door as a reminder to parents, staff and children.
  • All staff are required to check the sanitation checklist before the end of each shift to ensure all high-touch surface areas have been cleaned.
  • Bed sheets for children are provided by parents and are placed after each nap in a sealed bag and placed in their personal cubby and taken home to be washed by parents each week.
  • Staff take temperature of themselves and children each day using a digital thermometer.
  • WorkSafe information and Public Health guidance are provided to staff.
